The Center for Distance Education and Virtual Learning, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) MSW program has been designed with the emerging concerns in the era of globalization. It equips the students with sound theoretical knowledge about social work, social welfare and development concerns of the nation. The students develop skills and insights into working with people at the individual, group, community levels and their representatives. It also helps in networking with other groups and professionals working on similar issues.
The program is structured with a perfect balance of learning, observation study of social and related organizations, research, concurrent and block field work under supervision providing opportunities to develop conceptual and practical skills in social work. Thus, at the end of the two years, the MSW graduate is armed with a range of competencies to work in the field of social work, social welfare and social development.
The program offers graduates a wide range of work opportunities in government and non-government organizations at local, national and international levels in capacity as social workers, counselors, field officers, project officers, program coordinators in various areas of social sector.
Employment opportunities are also available as instructors and lecturers in training centers for social work and community development personnel, funding agencies and as development consultants.
