Overview - MA in Kannada Program
The Postgraduate program MA in Kannada offered at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is aligned with the guidelines of NEP-2022. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the history and philosophy of the Kannada language. The program focuses on all genres of Kannada literature such as Prose, Poetry, Drama, Folklore, Criticism, Vachana’s, and Tatvapada. The courses of study include Ancient, Medieval and Modern Kannada Literature. It also lays emphasis on Etymology, Orthography, Classical grammar and Phonology of Kannada language. This program creates opportunities for students to delve into the researches already undertaken in various fields of Kannada Literature. This program also makes a sincere attempt to highlight the culture, tradition, customs, heritage, structures which represent Kannada as a classical language. The program also aims to develop analytical skills, creativity, critical thinking, editing skills, skimming techniques and comprehensive skills.
